This isn’t 2008. We aren’t repeating anything.
Here’s the truth.
A bubble happens when the market price of residential real estate sharply rises. And YES! That’s happening! A bubble happens when demand decreases and the supply continues to increase. Our city has grown at a rapid rate and we didn’t build for it!
Therefore, as more people (9.9% growth expected in 2021) continue to (move here and) purchase homes we simply do not and have not the supply. Which does not put us in a housing bubble — we simply have lack of supply. Homes will continue to rise in price due to high demand. Which is setting the “new normal” for home prices in San Antonio.
